Comments The 2011 New England Patriots Instant Ticket is the newest game in the lottery s successful portfolio of sports-themed tickets. The $2 game goes on sale Monday and is Massachusetts second Patriots-branded offering since the two organizations unveiled the nation s first licensed NFL lottery ticket in August 2009. The partnership with the New England Patriots has been a winning experience for the Lottery, already rewarding our players with over $90 million in prizes, and raising almost $18 million in local aid for the commonwealth s 351 cities and towns, said State Treasurer Steve Grossman. With the addition of this new game, we can together help grow revenues available to municipalities by another $5.8 million. The instant ticket features more than $19.8 million in immediate cash prizes, including 15 top prizes of $50,000 and 478,215 prizes that range from $10 to $10,000. The new game will also offer a total of five second chance drawings through which players can enter non-winning tickets for opportunities to win ticket packages to Patriots home games and away game trips. In addition, five contestants in the second chance drawings will each win a $15,000 prize. The lottery will randomly select one of those lucky winners to be the finalist in the Touchdown Fantasy Challenge an on-field halftime presentation during a regular season Patriots home game where he or she will have the chance to win up to $100,000. We re incredibly proud that the original Patriots instant ticket, a first in the NFL, has raised nearly $18 million in local aid to cities and towns across the commonwealth over the last two years, said Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft. We re excited to be able to add to that total with this new ticket while offering one-of-a-kind experiences to some of the winners. The Massachusetts Lottery is the world-wide leader in the marketing of professional sports lottery games, according to lottery officials. Since creating the industry's sports-themed ticket market in 2006, the Lottery has sold more than $1.1 billion in instant tickets bearing logos from the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. Collectively, this portfolio of tickets has raised more than $173 million for the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts.
